HOW TO SURVIVE HIGH HEELS
Here's the lowdown on how to strut the your stuff on higher ground " )
1. Buy a good pair of heels to begin your training. Get one with straps if you've got unusually shaped feet that tend to slip out of shoes, and with a metal or wooden heel (read: no plastics pls)
2. Put on your heels and then find your balance point. (TAKE NOTE!) This is not ALWAYS in the centre of the heel. Sometimes its to a side!
3. When walking, always end your stride on your balance point. This aids stability as you regain your balance before your next step.
4. Don't clomp on heels, and NEVER put your full weight on the heel of one foot. Instead of shifting your centre of gravity (CG) from one foot to the other, keep your CG at your torso.. (now this sounds real chim, how to do that!?)
5. To RUN IN HEELS, remember that speed is not of the essence (this makes me think of MIWA, *luffs*), stability is. Run at a pace at which you can maintain your balance. Tip-toe, and never let your back of the heel touch the ground until you've finished (get this..) your SPRINT.
6. Never ever wear strappy high heels with handiplast - its CRASS. Instead, prevention is better than cure. So bite your shoes b4 they bite you.. (haha okok kidding.. that was from me) Here's the real one. What you SHOULD do is to plan your day well. Make sure you have no standing cocktails scheduled, or long walks between meetings
AND LASTLY, here's my favourite
7. Don't jump on heels. If you really have to, make sure a handsome strong fellow is close at hand! *grinz*
